John Gray started Atlanta Waterscapes more than 35 years ago. The idea was simple: build outdoor spaces by hand, with real stone, and actually show up to do the work yourself. That's still how we operate.

What started as John doing masonry work on his own in the Atlanta area has turned into a full-service company building stonework, ponds and water features, outdoor kitchens and landscaping across more than 20 communities in the metro. The company grew, but John never stepped back from the work. He still meets with every client, walks every property and stays involved through the build.
That's the main difference between us and the larger outfits. You won't deal with a sales rep first and meet the crew later.
John is the first person you talk to and the last person to check the finished work.

Why Masons Build Better Ponds
A lot of ponds are a plastic liner with a pump and some rocks scattered on top. Ours are stonework with water in it: every stone on the edges, spillways and streambeds is set by hand, so the edges hold their shape, the liner stays hidden and the waterline looks like a shoreline instead of a bathtub ring.
It starts at the stone yard, where John goes with you to pick the actual rock. Then we engineer the filtration and pumps in-house and size every system for its site, so a pond built right should run for years on a seasonal pump check and an occasional filter cleaning. That's the standard we hold as pond builders in Atlanta.
Our Crew Does It All
Our own crew handles the stonework, the footings, the fire components and the water-feature plumbing. We don't subcontract the parts of the build that matter most. For pavilions and outdoor kitchen structures we bring in master carpenters, and John's crew does all the stone, from ponds to hand-laid stone patios.
Licensed and insured
Atlanta Waterscapes carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage on every job, and is licensed for residential and commercial stonework, hardscaping and landscape construction in Georgia.
Where We Work
We work across the Atlanta metro, and most of our service area is within 45 minutes of our base in Smyrna. John and the crew travel to every job site themselves. If we can get to you, we will.
