Backyard Waterfalls Built From Natural Stone

We use irregular fieldstone, moss rock and native Georgia stone for the spillways, and John picks it with you at the stone yard, so you decide the character of every rock in the water. A waterfall can stand alone or spill into a pond or a stream. We engineer the pump and filtration in-house, sized to the falls. Book a free site walk to start.

Streams That Run Through Your Yard

A recirculating stream carries the water from the top of the falls across the yard and back, so it moves the whole time. Every spillway changes the sound. For a dry creek bed that handles runoff instead, see custom creek beds. Call John about a stream.

Noise-Curtain Waterfalls That Drown Out Traffic

A home in rural North Georgia was plagued by road noise. We built a river rock stream with several spillways, run by separate pumps that push 12,000 to 15,000 gallons an hour, and lit it from within so it shows at night. The water covers the traffic. If road noise is your problem, call (770) 361-7446.

Pond or No Pond?

A waterfall doesn't need a pond. A pondless waterfall keeps its water underground, so you get the sound with no open water: good for small yards, kids and pets.

When a Waterfall Needs Work

Falls that lose water, slow to a trickle or have shifted out of shape can usually be put right without starting over.

What a Backyard Waterfall Costs in Atlanta

The price depends on the height and length of the falls, the flow and pump it needs, how much stone goes in, and whether it runs into a pond or a hidden basin. John prices it after walking the yard with you, and that visit is free. Get a free estimate.

Questions About Adding a Waterfall

How do waterfalls not run out of water?

The water runs in a loop. A pump in the pond or an underground basin sends it back up to the top of the falls through a buried line, and it runs back down. You only top it up for what evaporates or splashes out.

How loud is a backyard waterfall?

As loud as it's built to be. The height of the drop, the flow and the shape of each spillway set the sound, from a soft trickle beside a patio to a noise curtain that covers road traffic. Book a free site walk and tell John what you want to hear.
